Don’t forget the Carpets
Let’s face it, area rugs take a lot of abuse and rarely get cleaned. Spot cleaning when necessary perhaps, but usually not the entire rug.
Moving is the perfect opportunity to get those area and oriental rugs cleaned. Have them picked up before you move for cleaning and any repairs that may be needed. Label the rugs for the room they go back to. If you are moving locally, and you have large rugs, have them delivered direct to your new residence so that they are in place when the furniture comes in. If the timing does not work to deliver them to the new house have them delivered back to your current residence where they will be already rolled and ready to move when the movers get there.
Always have the moving company load the carpets last so that they can deliver first and be laid down before the furniture arrives.
