It’s Called a Junk Drawer for a Reason…

Moving Time Saver Tip, Next Step Transitions

Most people take a junk drawer and scoop out the contents and dump it into a box.  Take a few extra minutes to contain the chaos of all those junk and bathroom drawers by using ziplock bags.  Have several open when working on a drawer.  All decent pencils and working pens in one bag, all keys and key fobs in another, paperclips and office what not’s in another, spare change etc.

Do the same in the bathroom – dental items in one bag, hair gizmos another, first aid and makeup in another.  Seal up the zip lock and place in a box.  You get the idea – sort as you go, keep like things together and– pitch out the old stuff as you pull it out so when you get to your new place, everything is already organized and ready to unpack. No ½ used tubes of old toothpaste, old makeup or pens that don’t work.

Nice neat bags take the guess work out of what to do with it.  And always be RUTHLESS on those miscellaneous drawers and dispose of anything you no longer need or use before you move!  You do not need 100 pens – really!

"If you want professional to execute a move in a highly competent fashion, at a reasonable price, and with minimal involvement on your part then Christy is your go-to person. Christy coordinated my mother’s move from an assisted living facility in Maryland to one in Bellevue WA—including finding folks to do all the packing and to transport the items across country, shopping around for the best price and acceptable delivery times, adapting to ambiguities and changes to plan along the way, and providing gentle reminders (when I needed to do something) and status updates along the way. I’m am very grateful to Christy for her help and recommend her without hesitation."
